Premier's Trophy

Since 2017, the Premier’s Trophy has gathered together the best-of-show wines from Victoria’s regional wine shows to discover the best of the best. Judged by a panel of industry experts, the winning wine from a shortlist of just 12 finalists is awarded the perpetual Premier's Trophy.

Finalists are celebrated at a prestigious Parliament House tasting and award ceremony. This exclusive event allows guests the unique opportunity to taste each of the exceptional finalists’ wines and to experience Victoria’s diverse and vibrant wine industry.

Since 1981, the Victorian Wine Show has played a vital role in promoting, supporting and celebrating Victorian wine. The committee is proud to present the Premier's Trophy with the support of the Department of Premier and Cabinet and Global Victoria.

2026 Premier's Trophy event will be on Tuesday, 16th June 2026

2023 Premier's Trophy Winner
Oakdene,
2022 Liz's Chardonnay

Based on the Bellarine Peninsula, Oakdene produces hand-crafted wines that reflect the region’s unique cool maritime climate, which offers excellent growing conditions for high-quality fruit.

The 2022 Liz's Chardonnay is bright and lifted, with a generous core of white stone fruit and citrus crunch. Orange rind, oatmeal and lemon curd fill the palate, with French oak and pithy notes contributing texture and balance.

2023 Premier's Choice Winner
Midhill, 2017 Blanc de Blanc

Established in 1993, Midhill Vineyard creates bright, balanced small-batch wines that reflect the high altitude and cool climate character of the Macedon Ranges region

The 2017 Blanc de Blanc is a dry, citrus-style sparkling with developing honey overtones. Nutty, with nice age, a persistent acid line and good balance it was made in the traditional method with 100% hand-picked, premium Chardonnay grapes.
